Connecting with employers is more than just giving
your resume to recruiters. Follow up and forge a connection.
Effective strategies for following up:
- Send
a thank-you note/email to the recruiter
re-emphasizing your interest (always request
business cards from the recruiters).
- Follow
the application instructions the recruiter shared
with you during the Fair - you may be instructed to upload
your resume into the employer's database for further consideration.
- This
is not a brush off! If posting your
resume on their website was all that employers required,
they would not take the time or expense to come to
campus. THEY WANT TO MEET YOU FACE-TO-FACE. However,
their hiring process may require interested candidates
to post resumes online.
- Taking
this step reinforces your interest and allows the
employer to move your application into their internal
process.
